Rose City Raid Lite
August 28-29
Sherwood, Oregon

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to run the full Rose City Raid 2021 as we had hoped. With things starting to open back up, we will be running a lighter, smaller event, just outside Portland.

What To Expect?

Rose City Raid is known for its challenging mission lineup and fantastic tables featuring plenty of special terrain. This year we’re ratcheting it up a notch by including Spec-Ops! You can expect some great and challenging gaming, as well as drinking and plenty of pizza to go around!

This tournament isn’t for the faint of heart, nor those with weak constitutions. Just like last year, we will be holding the event at Madrona Hill Vineyard in Sherwood Oregon, with ample supply of beer and pizza on-hand.

Prizes

One of my guiding principles in running the Rose City Raid last year, was to have an epic prize table. This year will be no exception! Like previous years, the biggest and best prizes will be able to be won by anyone through a raffle, so even if you don’t do well, you could very well go home with something epic.

Just like previous yerars, I’ve commissioned the amazing Obadiah (ITS: Nehemiah) to sculpt an EXCLUSIVE DRUNK SPEC-OPS MINIATURE that every participant will receive. Furthermore, we will be making extras, which will be available to purchase when you buy your tickets. Every penny of these additional miniature sales will go right back into the event to buy even more prizes. If you thought the Drunk Yuan Yuan was amazing, you’ll drop your beer when you see this one…

RCR2021 Prize Categories include:

  • 1st/2nd/3rd Place in the ITS Event. Standard for kicking the most butt!

  • Best Painted Army. Spend some times on those models and you may win some extra prizes!

  • Best Table. Bring the most beautiful and creative game table to take home the gold!

  • Best costume. COSTUME?! Whaaaaat? That’s right, lets celebrate 2021 in fashion!

Scenarios

We have picked a brutal lineup of missions for you this year, requiring all manner of specialists, anti-personnel weaponry, and some good old fashioned butt-kicking. Finally, while you’re making your lists, don’t forget to bring plenty of Terrain (Total) should you play on one of the more terrain-oriented tables. Since we will be playing at a brewery, the hours may be a little different than what you may be used to. Each round will last 2 hours with a half hour break in between where you can order food and drinks, or just recover from your previous round. If all goes well we should be done in time for dinner!

300 points, Spec-Ops, Red Classified Deck.

AUG 28TH, DAY 1:

  • Registration (11:00 – 11:45)

  • Round 1: Mindwipe (12:00 – 14:00)

  • Round 2: Annihilation (14:30 – 16:30)

  • Round 3: Highly Classified (17:00 – 19:00)

AUG 29TH, DAY 2:

  • Round 4: Frostbyte (12:30 – 14:30)

  • Round 5: Panic Room (15:00 – 17:00)

  • Prizes and Awards (17:15 – 18:00)

The scenarios have been hand selected to be incredibly challenging, we will be using the Red Classified Deck, but we are also using the Spec-Ops ITS Extra, so plan accordingly. For Highly Classified, all objectives will be generated at once by a TO.

A Note on Spec-Ops

To keep things in the spirit of fun, Spec Ops may not combine BTS greater than 6 with the Bioimmunity skill, if you spend points upgrading your Spec-Ops beyond BTS 6, those will be lost.

Game Tables and Terrain

Anyone who has followed my blog, The Dice Abide, knows that I’m a fiend for special terrain rules and challenging table set ups. You can expect that there will be plenty of challenging game tables at the event, including several predominantly covered in aquatic, zero-g, jungle or mountainous terrain.

Enhanced Special Terrain Rules: Models with the Terrain (X) skill gain an additional bonus when they are inside their corresponding terrain. The Terrain (Total) skill does not benefit from these bonuses. All Terrain skills get the usual +1” movement as normal.

  • Aquatic - Stealth

  • Desert - Sixth Sense

  • Mountain - Climbing Plus

  • Jungle - Dodge (PH+3)

  • Zero-G - Super Jump

Madrona Hill Vineyard

This year we will be playing at Madrona Hill Vineyard, my family vineyard located in Sherwood, OR. It has incredible views of five mountains, with Mount Hood at the center of it all.

The event will be played entirely outside, so dress accordingly!

19820 SW Cappoen Rd.
Sherwood, OR 97140

Hampton Inn, Sherwood

If you want to stay at a nearby hotel, the Hampton Inn is the only option in town! We will arrange travel to and from the hotel to the venue, just let us know you need a ride!

Finally, proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for all players, no exceptions.
