6e Challenge: Tyranids

So I've been taking a bit of a hiatus to deal with all sorts of professional and familial issues, but it doesn't mean I'm not thinking about some 40k! I've played a few games with my Necrons, mostly flyer based, and that hasn't really earned me many friends in the new edition, so I was looking at the other armies on my shelf (now that most are gone, thanks Britton!).  My Dark Angels are tempting, but I want to wait for the new book, and every list I write with my IG seems just as douchey as the next, which leaves my venerable bugs.

Looking through the new book with 6e in mind, I'm trying to discern where their strengths now lie, and how they can really take advantage of the new edition.  They have bountiful psykers, which are great as long as rune sticks aren't around, and the lack of fearless wounds means that swarms are even better tar pits, little bugs giving cover to big bugs also tickles me pink.

Ultimately, there is still the issue with elites, the Doom is even better and after you factor in the requisite hive guard, it's making fun things like Ymgarl's hard to squeeze in.  Oh well!  I'll keep you posted on how I do and what I discover with my gribbly bugs.
